Can You Paint Your Ferrari in Pink?

Sure, you can, but…

Ferrari is an iconic car and the same is true for its signature red color. A less-known fact is that the color was picked due to the racing rules. At the beginning of the 20th century, each country had an assigned color (blue for France, white for Germany, green for Great Britain, yellow for Belgium, and so on). Shortly – most countries used one of the colors in their flags. Fiat won the first title for Italy in red (this color was originally meant for the USA and it’s not clear when and why this changed) which was named Rosso Corsa (Racing Red), Alfa Romeo won several times in Rosso Corsa, and it was logical to use it when Ferrari entered the scene.

While Rosso Corsa stayed the signature color of Ferrari until today, the company adopted numerous other shades of red as well: Rosso Scuderia, Rosso Mugello, Roso Dino, Rosso Monza, Rosso Berlinetta, etc. were just some of them.

With new models, other colors like black, white, yellow, and green became standards for specific Ferraris, and today customers can choose from a huge palette of paints. Enzo Ferrari loved to say he doesn’t want two same Ferraris in the world, insinuating close cooperation between buyers and his designers who are willing to adjust most of the interior and exterior equipment to the driver’s taste.

So Can You Get Your Ferrari in Pink or Not?

The short answer is no. The officials at Ferrari strongly believe this color just doesn’t go with the brand. While ed is perceived as a strong masculine color, pink can look weak (lighter shades) or showy (stronger tints). Neither goes with the high standards adopted by the manufacturer with a prestigious position in the competitive automobile industry.

If you want to buy a Ferrari you have to wait in line, sometimes for more than a year, and you need to deposit a hefty sum of money. Yet they still can cancel your order and ban you from getting in line again.

In a way, we can say Ferrari Company from Maranello controls the ownership of Ferrari cars even after the purchase!

But There Are Pink Ferraris on the Road?

Yes, they are. When you buy a car, it’s yours. In theory, you can do with it whatever you want. You also get a contract where the conditions of guarantees and servicing are explained in great detail. If you make an unauthorized intervention you may lose all that. Painting a car is not as simple as painting the wall or a coloring book. It includes dismantling the parts, brushing them, using paints of special qualities, and so on and on. All these have an impact on the car’s performance and, yes, safety too.

So if you break the rule of ‘No Pokemon Ferraris’ you are on your own. Your car can become a risk on the road and your investment is iffy. Many Ferraris add value through their age and the word ‘original’ is closely associated with them. Well, the pink Ferrari is just not original. And yes, coral, salmon, or magenta are considered pink colors as well. It’s simple as that.
